Make Ahead Gravy Mix
- 1 cup All-purpose flour "Wondra" brand flour can also be used.
- 1/4 cup Bouillon powder, preferably homemade You can use any bouillon powder, including chicken, turkey, beef, or vegetable.
- 1 tsp Salt Omit if using store-bought bouillon powder.
Gravy
- 2 tbsp Make ahead gravy mix
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 cup Water
Make Ahead Gravy Mix
Add flour, bouillon powder, and salt (if using) into a bowl. Mix well.
Transfer mixture into a jar with a lid.
Unrefrigerated, your Make Ahead Gravy Mix has a shelf life of approximately 6 months.
Gravy
To make gravy using your Make Ahead Gravy Mix, place 2 tablespoons of the gravy mix into a saucepan.
To the saucepan, add 2 tablespoons of butter and whisk the mixture as the butter melts and the mixture browns slightly. This process takes approximately 2 minutes.
Next, add 1 cup of water to the saucepan and whisk well while bringing the mixture to a boil.
While continuing to whisk the mixture, allow it to boil for 1 minute until it thickens. Once it thickens, your gravy is ready. Remove it from the heat and serve.
