Poultry Seasoning with Rose Petals
Adding a bit of rose to your poultry seasoning is a lovely way to honor this heritage while offering your family and guests a truly unique and memorable flavor. And it is so easy to prepare and keep on hand.
Prep Time5 minutes mins
Total Time5 minutes mins
Course: Condiments
Cuisine: French
Servings: 1 Half cup
- 2 tbsps dried thyme
- 2 tbsps dried sage
- 2 tbsps dried marjoram
- 1 tbsp dried parsley (flat-leaf Italian is best)
- 2 tsps dried rosemary
- 2 tsps dried oregano
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tsp dried culinary rose petals, finely crumbled
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl.
Crush gently as you mix all the ingredients together with your fingers. Be gentle with the rose petals—you want soft flecks, not powder.
Store in an airtight jar, away from light. Keeps beautifully for about 6 months.
To Use:
• Rub on chicken thighs or a whole bird with olive oil or butter.
• Sprinkle in soups and broth-based dishes for subtle flavor.
• Add to skillet gravies or pan sauces for an old-world touch.
