Watch the Member Kitchen Pioneers Live Stream #7 video replay

During Traditional Foods Kitchen Academy Live Stream #7, I talked about our chilly Texas Weather experience without heat and power, and we talked about being prepared during bad weather. We also talked about the importance of traditional foods for good bone structure and the medicinal properties of herbs and spices.

As always, it’s so much fun “chatting” with all of my sweet Kitchen Pioneers during our live streams! 😊

Traditional Foods Kitchen Academy Live Stream

These live streams and live stream replays are available to members of the Traditional Foods Kitchen Academy, who we call Kitchen Pioneers. You can learn more about my optional YouTube membership community, including members-only videos and exclusive perks.

This membership community is optional. I’m still publishing my weekly detailed instructional cooking videos on my public YouTube channel that you can watch for free. (Thanks so much for being a Sweet Friend and subscriber!)

In addition to links to the latest Kitchen Academy vodcasts, this blog post lists some of the public videos that I talk about in my live stream.

Terrible Winter Weather

Wow! That terrible winter storm caused an unprecedented shutdown of power and water across Texas. I chatted more about our experience without heat and power during our live stream and how our Prepper Pantry helped us during this sub-freezing weather. We’re so glad that the chilly February weather is behind us! If you want to know more about our experience during the midst of the storm, watch the following Texas Weather Update video.

Traditional Foods and Medicinal Herbs

During this live stream, we talked about the importance of traditional foods when it comes to the development of good bone structure. Dr. Weston A. Price’s Nutrition and Physical Degeneration book is a real eye-opener on this subject! But don’t lose heart if you are just now beginning to incorporate traditional nutrient-dense foods into your diet. As Dr. Catherine Shanahan describes in her Deep Nutrition book, it’s never too late to improve your overall appearance and, more importantly, your health!

When it comes to making the transition from a processed foods kitchen to a Traditional Foods Kitchen, don’t forget to include a variety of culinary herbs and spices in your pantry. You also want to have herbs that are well known for their medicinal qualities and culinary uses, such as thyme and oregano.

If using herbs and growing them in your garden is new to you, be sure to look for Rosemary Gladstar’s Medicinal Herbs for Beginners book. This outstanding resource will help you learn how to identify herbs, grow them, and use them to make natural remedies.

Here are a few Medicinal Herbs available from Mountain Rose Herbs. They are my favorite purveyor of organic dried herbs and herb seeds.
