Learn more about Project Pantry
This pantry challenge is part of Leisa Sutton’s YouTube Channel, Suttons Daze. Leisa challenged us to clean out our freezers and do an inventory.
Leisa is well known for spearheading Project Pantry. As part of that program, she initiates various Pantry Challenges throughout the year. These challenges include all sorts of projects relating to our pantries: working pantries, short-term storage pantries, long-term storage pantries, and our freezers.
Throughout August, she encourages all of us to eat as much as we can out of our pantries and keep our grocery shopping to a minimum. She has different projects for each week during the month.
Week One of the August Pantry Challenge
For the first week, Leisa encouraged us to inventory our freezers. So empty them, clean them, inventory everything you’ve got squirreled away, and then put it all back—neat and organized. But you don’t need to put that freezer-burned cauliflower back. Leisa suggests feeding that to the pigs. Apparently, they love it!
So join in on the fun! Well…not sure fun is the right word! But above all, having a clean, well-organized freezer will certainly make meal prep easier as we head back into the busy school year.
