The Freezer is Perfect for Make Ahead Meals

If you’re looking for a no-stress dinner that’s comforting, flavorful, and ready in minutes, you’ll love these Freezer-Marinated Chicken Legs. They’re perfect for busy weeknights or cozy weekends when you want a homemade meal without the fuss. Simply prep and freeze ahead of time, then pop them under the broiler for a juicy, crispy dinner in no time.

Why Make-Ahead Chicken Legs Are a Lifesaver

I started making these when our son Ben was little. On Saturday nights, we’d turn the living room into a cozy movie theater, complete with buttery popcorn and homemade steak fries.

I’d pull a bag of marinated chicken legs from the freezer, transfer them to the fridge either the night before or on Saturday morning to defrost, then pop them under the broiler while the previews rolled. By the time the movie started, dinner was ready. It became one of our favorite easy, comforting meals—and it still is!

Turmeric Tea Ice Cubes in a glass cup.

How to Make Turmeric Tea Ice Cubes

I’ll show you how to bring turmeric, ginger, and lemon together to create incredible turmeric tea ice cubes that you can store in your freezer. Once you’ve made them, pop a few into a glass, add some sparkling water, and you’ll have a refreshing anti-inflammatory drink to enjoy when the temperatures jump outside. It’s the ultimate summer mocktail!

Stock Up With Cheap Foods in Your Freezer

In a previous shopping video, I showed you some cheap foods you can stock in your fridge and freezer. Your freezer can keep food frozen for a longer time than your refrigerator, so although you may have limited freezer space, think of it as a place where you can store perishable food for a longer period.

A favorite ingredient I like to store in my freezer is butter. When I find it on sale, I like to buy a gaggle of butter bars, place them neatly in a freezer bag, press out the air, and store them until I need to refresh the butter container I have in my refrigerator and use for recipes or for buttered toast.
