A Quick Glance: Highlights from My Austin Book Signing
🎉 A Joyful Austin Event: My Barnes & Noble book signing in Austin was filled with smiles, hugs, and heartfelt conversations about traditional foods.
👩👩👦 Family & Friends: I was blessed to share the day with my husband, Ted, our son Benjamin, and so many wonderful friends—old and new.
📚 What’s Next: The Modern Pioneer Cookbook Curriculum is available for free online, and more book signings are planned in Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas!
A Texas-Sized Book Display
Right as you walked into the lobby, there was a big poster of The Modern Pioneer Pantry along with lovely stacks of my book, plus a hand-drawn sign pointing the way upstairs to the cookbook section. When you arrived on the second floor, there was a cozy signing table surrounded by both of my books—The Modern Pioneer Cookbook and The Modern Pioneer Pantry—along with three rows of chairs waiting for everyone to settle in, relax, and enjoy a chat about traditional foods.
Best of all, I wasn’t alone—my sweet husband, Ted, was by my side, and our wonderful son, Benjamin, joined in the fun too! New and old sweet friends who came out for the book signing, including many of Ben’s friends, made the day even more special.
Sharing Our Interest in Traditional Foods
We had the most delightful time visiting together, sipping cool herbal iced drinks from the café, and sharing stories. Many of you had the opportunity to meet my family for the first time, and it warmed my heart to see you all connecting.
What touched me most deeply was the chance to hug so many of you in person, hear about your traditional foods journey, and share this special moment face-to-face. It was also incredibly inspiring to be surrounded by such a joyful group of young people, who are wonderful friends to our son and share an interest in traditional foods.
