How to Avoid Busting Your Grocery Budget for Christmas Dinner

Watch the Kitchen Pioneers Live stream #16 video replay

I was happy to chat with my sweet Kitchen Pioneers during this month’s live stream on November 29, 2021. Among the various topics, we talked about what to make for Christmas dinner without busting your grocery budget.

This live stream replay is available to Kitchen Pioneers who have joined my YouTube membership community—The Traditional Foods Kitchen Academy.

No Standing Rib Roasts this Year!

As we chatted about during the live stream, the price of a standing rib roast has shot up this year. We don’t want to bust our grocery budget to buy a standing rib roast for Christmas Day dinner this year. So what do we make instead? Rock Cornish game hens to the rescue!

These hens make such a lovely presentation on any holiday table. And the best part is that four hens will probably run us less than $20. That’s a real savings compared to the budget-busting $150 for a four-rib roast!

Plus, there is something so special about every guest having a mini-turkey on their plate. Along with some wild rice and string beans almondine, you’re all set, and no one will go home hungry!

So watch this month’s Kitchen Pioneers live stream for a delicious Rock Cornish game hens recipe and more Christmas holiday dinner ideas to help you stay within your grocery budget.
