I was happy to chat with my sweet Kitchen Pioneers during this month’s live stream on May 19, 2022. And what a varied live stream it was! We hit on so many hot topics of the day, including how bone broth and collagen supplements can help with hair loss.

This live stream replay is available to Kitchen Pioneers who have joined my YouTube membership community—The Traditional Foods Kitchen Academy.

Regrowing Our Hair After Illness
As many of us ladies will say, our hair is our crowning glory, and when we start to have hair loss, panic can set in!
In our live stream, I shared with you how I noticed that my hair was thinning as I recovered from that pesky virus that plagued so many of us late last year. This was terribly distressing, so I turned to bone broth and collagen supplements to help with my hair loss. And I am finally seeing some new hair growth.
So if you have found yourself with similar hair loss after an illness, be sure to make and drink lots of bone broth. I am especially relying on chicken bone broth these days, since I can make it for a lot less money than beef bone broth. (Watch my how to make collagen rich bone broth for under $2 video to learn how.)
Update: I talk about getting collagen naturally in my video and blog post: 10 Reasons Why You Should Eat Meat On the Bone: Nature’s Original Collagen Boost and Multivitamin.

Rising Prices at the Grocery Store
Another topic that dominated our live stream focused on dealing with the rising prices of so many items at our local grocery stores. We covered lots of ways to save money, such as bulk shopping and how to best preserve the foods we buy or grow.
Something that was fun for me to learn about was how so many of you are entering into the world of freeze-drying to preserve your foods! I am looking forward to hearing more about this in the future.
Finding Bargain Foods
To help in these inflationary times, I recently published a few videos to help you find bargain foods at your local Walmart, Trader Joe’s, or Aldi grocery stores.
