So what exactly do we mean when we use the term Traditional Diets or Traditional Foods Diets? Well, the truth is that the term means different things to different people. A lot has to do with where people live and what is available to them locally.

But the bottom line is that all traditional foods diets have certain principles in common that we can apply to our own home cooking as we make the journey from a processed foods kitchen to a traditional foods kitchen.

These conversational vodcasts are available to the Kitchen Pioneers who have joined my YouTube membership community—The Traditional Foods Kitchen Academy.

Making Ultra-Pasteurized Milk Better

I’m not a fan of ultra-pasteurized milk, but you only have access to this type of milk, you can culture it to make it more nutritious for your traditional foods diet. In the following videos, I show you how to make yogurt from milk and sour cream and butter from cream. And you can use ultra-pasteurized milk and cream to start these recipes.

Recipes to Start Your Traditional Foods Diet

If you’re just beginning on your traditional foods journey, start out with the following three recipes:

The first two chicken recipes go well together. After you roast your chicken, save the bones to make chicken bone broth.

For the third recipe, sauerkraut is the easiest way to get started making probiotic-rich foods. Once you master the sauerkraut recipe, you’ll have the confidence to take on other fermentation recipes.
