Make Meal Prep Easy

When it comes to meal prep, you can feel overwhelmed when dinner time rolls around, and you have nothing defrosted. You may stand in front of your pantry, thinking about what to make, and you may feel paralyzed at the thought of a daunting task ahead of you.

But meal prep for any meal (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) doesn’t have to be an overwhelming task. It can actually be very easy to set aside a few minutes early in your week to prepare some simple ingredients. You’ll be able to use your prepped ingredients to quickly pull together easy and delicious meals throughout the week.

10 Meal Prep Tips

In my tips video, I share the 10 meal prep tips that I use in my traditional foods kitchen. These tips make preparing meals a breeze, and I know they will help you too!

Roast Chicken

I start with a tip on roasting a chicken or preparing any type of protein that you’d like. And I finish with a tip for how to make homemade granola that not only serves as a breakfast ingredient, but you can also serve it as a dessert and a snack!

In between a roast chicken and granola, I walk you through the other foods that I like to prepare—homemade—and stock in my fridge or freezer. These foods include bone broth, which is an essential ingredient in your traditional foods kitchen. I also discuss pre-cooked grains and beans and how to make homemade yogurt with nothing more than a bowl. (You don’t need any special equipment!) And, of course, I have videos and printable recipes for everything I share.

Implementing these meal preps will positively change your life and give you and your family real foods for tasty and nutritious meals throughout the week.

Sourdough Starter is a Meal Prep Lifesaver

One of the best meal prep tips is to never worry about having a lot of sourdough starter in a container on your counter. It’s OK if you don’t bake bread every day. And I promise you will never have to discard any of your starter.

As I show you in the following recipe videos, you can use your sourdough starter to easily cook up a batch of pancakes, waffles, flatbread, and crackers. You can even use your sourdough starter discard to top a casserole, instead of using a biscuit topping.

Watch the following video to learn more about how to maintain a sourdough starter with no feedings and no discards.
